Consulting & Strategy
Strategy Built Around Your Goals—Not Someone Else’s Playbook
Every organization has a goal. The harder question is figuring out how to get there.
I help businesses, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, political campaigns, and mission-driven leaders turn ambitious goals into practical strategies that can actually be executed.
My approach is rooted in something pretty simple: strategy should solve problems, not create more of them.
That means I don’t believe in handing clients a generic playbook, chasing whatever happens to be trending this week, or recommending tactics simply because everyone else is using them.
I start with where you are, where you want to go, who you need to reach, what resources you have available, and what is standing between you and the result you’re trying to achieve.
Then we build the strategy around that.
Over the years, I’ve worked across grassroots advocacy, political campaigns, digital engagement, organizational leadership, business development, coalition building, and public policy. I’ve helped organizations communicate complicated ideas, mobilize people around causes, build stronger digital operations, reach new audiences, and turn online engagement into real-world action.
Whether you’re trying to grow a business, build a movement, strengthen an organization, win a campaign, expand your digital reach, or simply figure out what comes next, I can help you develop a clearer path forward.
Strategic Consulting
Sometimes you don’t need another vendor.
You need someone who can look at the entire picture.
Strategic consulting begins with understanding the problem you’re actually trying to solve. From there, we can evaluate your current strategy, identify gaps and opportunities, establish priorities, and develop a practical roadmap for moving forward.
Depending on your needs, consulting may include:
- Organizational and strategic planning
- Growth strategy
- Campaign strategy
- Communications strategy
- Audience development
- Digital strategy
- Grassroots and advocacy strategy
- Coalition development
- Messaging and positioning
- Community engagement
- Leadership and organizational development
- Strategic audits and assessments
The objective isn’t to produce another impressive-looking strategy document that sits in a folder.
It’s to build something your organization can actually use.
Grassroots Organizing & Advocacy
I’ve spent years working in grassroots politics and issue advocacy, and one lesson has followed me throughout that work:
People are not metrics.
Calls, texts, emails, clicks, petition signatures, and social-media impressions can all matter. But successful grassroots organizing ultimately depends on relationships, trust, persuasion, organization, and giving people a meaningful way to participate.
I help organizations develop grassroots programs designed to move people from awareness to engagement to action.
That can include:
- Grassroots campaign development
- Volunteer recruitment and activation
- Advocate development
- Digital organizing
- Field strategy
- Legislative advocacy campaigns
- Issue education
- Coalition building
- Community outreach
- Mobilization programs
- Calls-to-action and supporter journeys
- Grassroots leadership development
- Campaign measurement and optimization
I’ve worked on advocacy efforts at the local, state, regional, and national levels, giving me firsthand experience with the difference between a campaign that simply generates activity and one that builds sustained pressure capable of producing results.
The goal isn’t just to find supporters.
It’s to turn supporters into participants—and participants into leaders.
Digital Strategy & Engagement
Having a website and a few social-media accounts isn’t a digital strategy.
Neither is posting every day.
A successful digital operation connects your audience, message, content, technology, data, and organizational goals into one coordinated system.
I help organizations examine the entire digital ecosystem and determine how each piece should support the others.
Digital strategy consulting can include:
- Digital communications strategy
- Social-media strategy
- Content strategy
- Email engagement
- Audience acquisition and growth
- Digital organizing
- Website strategy
- Search visibility
- SEO strategy
- AI search optimization and AISO
- Online conversion strategy
- Digital advertising strategy
- Analytics and performance measurement
- Integrated digital campaigns
The question shouldn’t simply be, “How do we get more followers?”
The better question is:
“What do we want people to do once we’ve earned their attention?”
That’s where digital strategy becomes much more powerful.
Political Campaign Strategy
Campaigns operate in one of the most demanding strategic environments imaginable.
There’s a deadline that can’t move, limited resources, competing priorities, constant scrutiny, and an opponent actively trying to beat you.
There isn’t much room for wasted effort.
I work with candidates and campaign organizations on strategies that connect communications, grassroots organizing, digital engagement, voter contact, messaging, and campaign objectives.
Areas of support can include:
- Campaign strategy
- Grassroots organizing
- Digital campaign strategy
- Voter engagement
- Volunteer development
- Campaign messaging
- Candidate positioning
- Issue strategy
- Digital communications
- Persuasion strategy
- Field and digital integration
- Campaign infrastructure
- Strategic planning and prioritization
I believe the strongest campaigns aren’t simply the campaigns with the biggest advertising budgets.
They’re the campaigns that understand who they need to persuade, what motivates those voters, how to reach them, and how to turn support into action.
Nonprofit & Mission-Driven Organizations
Mission-driven organizations face a unique challenge.
You aren’t simply selling a product.
You’re asking people to believe in something.
That requires a different kind of strategy.
I help nonprofits, advocacy organizations, associations, and other mission-driven groups strengthen the connection between their mission, communications, supporters, and organizational objectives.
That may include:
- Organizational strategy
- Advocacy strategy
- Supporter acquisition
- Member and volunteer engagement
- Digital communications
- Coalition building
- Campaign planning
- Community engagement
- Messaging development
- Audience growth
- Leadership development
- Long-term movement building
One of the biggest mistakes organizations can make is treating supporters like names in a database rather than people who have chosen to invest their time, attention, or resources in a shared mission.
Strong organizations build communities around that mission.
Business Growth & Entrepreneurship
Growing a business isn’t simply about marketing.
Marketing matters, but growth also depends on positioning, customer experience, operations, leadership, reputation, strategy, and understanding what makes people choose you instead of the alternatives.
As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the difference between discussing business strategy theoretically and making decisions when your own time, money, reputation, and livelihood are involved.
I work with entrepreneurs and small businesses on areas including:
- Business growth strategy
- Market positioning
- Customer acquisition
- Brand strategy
- Digital marketing
- Online visibility
- Strategic partnerships
- Audience development
- Customer engagement
- Organizational strategy
- Marketing audits
- Competitive positioning
You don’t necessarily need to do everything.
You need to identify the right things to do next.
My Approach
Listen First. Diagnose Second. Build Third.
I don’t begin a consulting relationship assuming I already know the answer.
I ask questions.
What are you trying to accomplish?
What’s working?
What’s not?
Who are you trying to reach?
What have you already tried?
Where are people getting stuck?
What resources do you actually have?
What does success look like six months or a year from now?
Those questions matter because organizations often arrive asking for one solution when the underlying problem is somewhere else entirely.
More advertising won’t fix unclear positioning.
More social-media posts won’t fix weak messaging.
More volunteers won’t fix a broken organizing system.
More website traffic won’t matter if nobody converts.
And another strategic plan won’t accomplish much if nobody knows how to implement it.
My job is to help identify the real obstacle—and then build a practical strategy around overcoming it.
Experience From the Field
My perspective comes from doing this work in the real world.
My career has taken me through grassroots organizing, political campaigns, public-policy advocacy, regional digital engagement, organizational leadership, entrepreneurship, and consulting.
I’ve worked on efforts involving voter contact, grassroots mobilization, legislative advocacy, digital organizing, public-policy campaigns, coalition development, business marketing, and organizational growth.
That experience taught me that the lines separating communications, digital strategy, grassroots organizing, marketing, leadership, and organizational strategy are increasingly artificial.
They affect one another.
The best strategies recognize that.
Instead of treating every challenge as an isolated problem, I look at how the pieces work together—and where changing one piece can strengthen everything else.
Who I Work With
My consulting work is particularly well suited for:
Businesses & Entrepreneurs looking to grow, strengthen their marketing, improve their positioning, or develop a clearer strategy.
Nonprofits & Advocacy Organizations seeking to expand their reach, mobilize supporters, strengthen grassroots operations, or build effective issue campaigns.
Political Candidates & Campaigns looking for strategic guidance across grassroots organizing, digital engagement, communications, and voter outreach.
Associations & Coalitions working to organize stakeholders, communicate complicated issues, and influence public policy.
Community & Mission-Driven Leaders trying to transform an idea, organization, or cause into something capable of producing measurable impact.
Strategy Should Lead Somewhere
There are plenty of consultants who can tell you what’s wrong.
That’s only useful if you can figure out what to do next.
I believe good strategy should provide clarity.
You should walk away understanding your priorities, your audience, your opportunities, your challenges, and the next actions necessary to move forward.
Because ultimately, strategy isn’t about PowerPoints, buzzwords, or complicated frameworks.
It’s about making better decisions.
And better decisions compound.
They create stronger organizations, more effective campaigns, healthier businesses, more engaged communities, and movements capable of turning ideas into action.
Let’s Build Something That Works
If you’re building a business, leading an organization, launching a campaign, advancing a cause, or trying to solve a strategic challenge, I’d be glad to hear what you’re working on.
Tell me where you are.
Tell me where you’re trying to go.
And tell me what’s standing in the way.
From there, we can determine whether working together makes sense.
Let’s turn your goals into a strategy—and your strategy into action.
